I love the look of this pattern.

Sometimes you just need an easy knit. Typically I would cast on a hat that I have made dozens of times for those mindless knitting days. The kind of day where your hands just already know what to do. But I think this pattern could become one of those for me. Simple construction, great shape, and a finished product that makes a perfect gift for someone.

I also think this could be a perfect project for those beautiful skeins of yarn that you just don’t know what to do with. You want to make something that will highlight the colours but you only have a couple skeins. The striking red of the knitting sample is what originally caught my eye but I think it would look beautiful in a tonal or a tweed yarn. The suble colour differences would look so pretty when used for this scarf hood pattern.

Plus, right now it is the middle of winter and despite having a drawer full of woolen knitted goodies; I never have enough to keep me warm!
